The Dews and Drops of His Grace - Thomas Watson

"Of his fullness have all we received" (John 1:16). Put a glass under a still and it receives water out of the still, drop by drop. So those who are united to Christ have the dews and drops of his grace distilling on them.

God Never Bids Us Seek Him In Vain - Thomas Watson

"They shall be filled." God never bids us seek Him in vain. "He hath filled the hungry with good things" (Luke 1:53). "He satisfieth the longing soul" (Psalm 107:9). God will not let us lose our longing.

We See This Love by the Fruits of It - John Bunyan

Though the love that is in Him is essential to His nature, and can vary no more than God himself: yet we see not this love but by the fruits of it, nor can it otherwise be discerned. 'Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us' (1 John 3:16). We must then betake ourselves to the discoveries of this love.

Behold, he Prayeth - C.H. Spurgeon

And the Lord said to him, "Rise and go to the street called Straight, and at the house of Judas look for a man of Tarsus named Saul, for behold, he is praying, Acts 9:11 ESV

The Holy Ghost's evidence by which he convinced Ananias of Paul's conversion was not, "Behold, he talks loudly of his joys and feelings," but, "Behold, he prayeth," and that prayer was earnest, heart-broken confession and supplication. Oh to see this sure evidence in all who profess to be our converts!
